Get Clarity About Your Pregnancy

A pregnancy test is an important first step, but it cannot tell you everything you need to know. When a pregnancy is unplanned, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. That’s why pregnancy confirmation matters.

At Harbour Health, eligible clients receive a free limited OB ultrasound, performed by licensed nurses under the supervision of a certified OB/GYN. A licensed provider reviews ultrasounds to confirm results, ensuring you receive accurate information.

Who Qualifies for an Ultrasound?

You may qualify for a limited OB ultrasound if you have had a positive pregnancy test at Harbour Health (or have pregnancy confirmation from a provider).

Our staff will walk you through eligibility during your appointment.

What a Limited OB Ultrasound Can Confirm

Ultrasound provides information that a pregnancy test cannot. It answers three key medical questions:

1. Viability

Viability refers to whether the pregnancy appears to be developing and whether a heartbeat is present. This matters because miscarriage is more common than many people realize. As many as 26% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage.

2. Gestational Age

Gestational age confirms how far along you are. This information affects your timeline and helps you understand what options may be available.

For example, medical abortion (also known as the abortion pill) is FDA-approved only through 10 weeks gestation.

3. Pregnancy Location

Ultrasound confirms whether the pregnancy is located in the uterus. In rare cases, pregnancy develops outside the uterus (ectopic pregnancy), which can become life-threatening and requires immediate medical care.

Why Ultrasound Matters

Having accurate medical information can reduce anxiety. Many women feel more grounded after learning these details because it replaces uncertainty with details they can use to make a thoughtful decision about their pregnancy and future.

Ultrasound also helps you prioritize your health so that if treatment is needed for ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage, you can get the medical attention you need right away.
